One standout feature of Sababa is their commitment to inclusivity. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, offers gender-neutral restrooms, and is open to all. It's a place where everyone can feel welcome and enjoy delicious food in a comfortable setting.
Don't forget to try their falafel, which is served as a complimentary sample while you wait in line. The falafels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, bursting with flavor. The ribeye sandwich and pita wraps are also highly recommended, offering a satisfying and flavorful dining experience.

I don't think there's anything I need to say that hasn't already been said but here I go anyway. From the moment my group and I walked in, we were greeted and warmly welcomed. The line wasn't too long which in my experience is rare as this place is usually very very busy. The menu is quite straightforward but if you're unsure, I recommend the chicken pita sandwich. I was a little unsure about portions especially as I had come in after a long gym session so I was starving but the sandwich was generously filled and very filling. As you're ordering, they sometimes give you a free falafel to sample which was nice because then my friend ordered a pack of them she liked them so much. Also, everything is halal, which is amazing! The person who took my order was super attentive and made the process very easy. If you're easily overwhelmed by choices (especially as not everything was labeled), then I highly recommend checking their order online option on Toast. Even if you don't use it to order online, you can get an idea of exactly what you want and what to order. I just told the person who was making my sandwich that I wanted everything but parsley, extra spicy with garlic and hummus and it was absolutely perfect for me. Prices are fair, portions were great, and there was plenty of seating in the back. The ambiance and vibe of the store was welcoming and cozy, and everyone who was working there was incredibly kind. Parking is a bit limited, but Harvest Fresh right behind them had LOTS of parking available and you can park there and walk over without any problem (it's super close and accessible from there too). I've heard great things about Sababa and I'm happy to say they truly lived up to the hype.
This place deserves NOTHING BUT 5 stars. Incredible food, friendly staff, they finally added a dining area and overall just the best tasting shawarmas you will ever have. Quality of the food is amazing, and the fizzling drinks they have are excellent. The best feeling in the world is when you go to a place and your expectation is met 20x! Highly recommend the steak shawarma and the pomegranate fizz drink.
Quick Delicious food. As we approached the front counter top order we were Kindly greeted and offered a sample of the falafel. Great fresh ingredients. Many of choices to customize to your preference. Hours are open pretty late too. Great food Kind employees. Stop by and Enjoy all these menu items don't forget dessert too Thank you Sababa.
This is a solid falafel and pita shop located in a questionable area. It also has a parking lot that can barely fit enough cars and a 7-11 that is blasting music. That being said the food is awesome. Unfortunately that raised the prices again making it less of a value option but if you want food that tastes good, is filling, and still a reasonable price, this place fits it. You order at the counter and if you get a pita or plate, your food comes with a meat/falafel and unlimited sides like lettuce, hummus, pickles, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. The chicken is moist and flavorful and the pita holds together well which is important to me. I would give it 5 stars, but with the price increase AND some hummus that tasted bad (as in spoiled), it goes down to 4 stars.
There's little new I could add to the 5-star endorsements I've read, except to say this Monday, Labor Day, visit was sooo enjoyable. This for our first visit was a 6+ out of 5-stars. Yes, there was line outside. But it was worth every minute invested. For 'First Timers' my wife had the Falafel Bowl with white rice (she doesn't eat meat or poultry), and I had the Chicken Pita with an add of Falafel. Out front... it was great...! My only comment is that for my next visit I'll just order the Falafel Pita. The chicken was a bit on the 'salty side' for me. But I'm very sensitive to salt. It was still good, but drew my attention away from the balance of the sandwich. My wife loved the bowl. But for follow-up visits when passing through GG, we'd consider a to-go order of falafels and then an assortment of the veggies. When we got home I couldn't finish that huge sandwich (thanks to our server at the counter) and my wife ate all but one of the six falafels in the bowl. We prepare Middle Eastern at home, but wouldn't dare, not that we'd even come barely close, try to replicate those truly great Sababa falafels. But with our various home made yougurt and hummus sides, we would be able to steam-warm the falafel and build our sandwiches 'on-demand.' But I'll say just eating what's served was fantastic. It's the drive home for some that challenges that 'fresh taste' when food is eating when served. Enough said. As for our 'notable falafel experiences to date...' we've been as far as San Francisco up North and to Brasil in the South. My wife is Lebanese-Brasilian. And for the many years we've tried Middle Eastern and Lebanese cuisine whenever it's been available. And maybe now well known, Brazil has a sizable Middle Eastern community. In fact, one of the more popular fast food operations in cities from the coast to the interior is Habib's. So with that background and both of us cooking, we try to be objective when rating food. So far, the star of this show and winner of 'Best Falafel On the West Coast' has to be Sababa. And for 'Best Supporting Accompaniments When Preparing a Falafel Pita or Bowl' most definitely is 'All the Pickled Veggies and Other Adds' in the stainless serving tables up front at Sababa. My wife doesn't eat meat or poultry and very little fish. However and ironically, coming from a Lebanese-Brasilian family that owns cattle property, she knows her way around Kibbe, Eggplant and a host of other items, including some that include meats and poultry. I've been 'in the kitchen' since I was a kid. It's deep hobby, but not my vocation. So with that shared, our respect for Falafel is based on knowing that great falafel requires dedication. Like any great food item, we know there are no shortcuts. Best ingredients possible is a given. It's agreed that if one is going to 'Go Retail Food Service' with falafels, it has to be a dedicated effort. And from what we tasted, the founders/owners most certainly did their homework, bringing the best ingredients into their store. And I have to add that for our first visit, we were greatly impressed with the service crew taking and fulfilling orders at the front counter. Great personalities and so accommodating for our first visit. We also loved being sampled on their falafels while in line...! I'm wondering if it was our 'Senior Age Grandparents Look?' But I'll guess these were just young people who enjoyed people and took pride in what they were doing. It showed in the way we were treated.
Great food, good music, all around good vibes line looks long but moves pretty quick.
They give you a free falafel while standing in line to try. Falafels are very good here. - Fries 4.3/5 Reminds me of McDonald's fries. Really good! - Ribeye Sandwich 4.1/5 Better than the bowls. It's big and flavorful. - Half Falafel Half Chicken Bowl 3.2/5 They give you a bit of everything when asked.. I thought it was OK. Kind of heavy- rice was mushy. It was a lot of food though. Personally I like halal guys better. Free parking in lot
6/5 for the food 5/5 for the service 4/5 for the ambiance We arrived 2pm on a Saturday and the line didn't seem too crazy. However, never judge a line by its actual head counts. It took us almost 25-30 minutes to get our order/food. The line moved really slow because most of the people had multiple orders and each item required individualized attention (you customize your own toppings). While the wait wasn't the most pleasant part of the experience, once we got our food all was forgiven. We ordered a falafel pita ($10.99) and a chicken pita ($12.99). When we were about to hit the counter, the staff gave us free falafel samples (they handed them to all customers) so it soothed our hanger a little. The falafel was fresh (see my picture of the falafel machine) and they didn't over-fry it. It came with nice spice and well-balanced with all the other vegetables and pickles. We had one spicy hummus and one mild. Spicy one offered a nice kick and it wasn't too spicy (not for me, but I have high tolerance of hot food). The pickles were the best part; the toppings were unlimited and I'd recommend stuffing everything in if you are not picky. Chicken was juicy and full of flavor, though a little on the sweeter side. We will definitely come back for the ribeye and bowls. A note on parking. There were a couple of spaces with "15 minutes only" or "hair salon only" but we've seen people parked there for an entire 1.5 hours. Also, there is no hair salon currently at that establishment.
Solid spot for pita wraps! We recently moved back to GG and were surprised we never knew of this hidden gem! We online ordered the falafel wrap and the chicken pita. Each were about $11 - $12. You can personalize your fixings. We went for the red cabbage, sababa salad (tomatoes and cucumber), green lettuce with red sauce, tahini, hummus, and garlic. Order took about half an hour to be prepared. Since it was a weekday, we found parking in the tiny lot (overflow is the plaza right behind). Pick up was easy too. The dine-in area is very cute and we love the open concept of this little shop. First impression of our pita wraps, we were surprised by how heavy our wraps were. They loaded our wraps with protein and they did not skimp on the additional fixings. Hubby absolutely loved his falafel wrap. Texture of the falafel was incredible to him. He loves the soft pita and the balance of the red cabbage to the different sauces. As for my chicken pita, it was really good. I was just a little overwhelmed by the sauces. I had initially requested for my sauces to be on the side but instead it was put into my pita so I did my best to eat as much as I could before I got overwhelmed. The chicken had really good flavor and was not dry. Lettuce and other veggies were extremely fresh. It's honestly a really good pita sandwich. The second time we came back, it was a Friday evening. It was so busy that they had shut down their online ordering so we had to resort to DoorDash which did not have the same ordering format as their main website. We ended up ordering the wrong thing and the experience was not nearly as enjoyable as our first time. Nonetheless, we love Sababa and will still get our pita sandwiches from here. We'll probably pick a less busy time, like a weekday. Definitely a hidden gem in Anaheim!
Was a very good spot for pitas and bowls. Tried the falafel in line and I was impressed. Only thing I think needed a little change was the meat had no middle eastern flavor to It whatsoever. I love the smell and flavors of middle eastern meat but it lacked that here but was still very good
